We tackled stigma, creating communities of care, decriminalization, history and more. Kaytlin Bailey, host of Oldest Profession Podcast, shared a bit of the history of sex work; Melissa Broudo, Co-Executive Director of S.O.A.R., gave a brief overview of the legal realities facing sex workers and discussed her non-profit’s work to benefit those in the sex industry, trafficked individuals, and related communitites. Carlos Motta shared an excerpt from his video work Gender Talents, featuring interviews of trans sex workers in Columbia, speaking about their experience of gender identity within their cultural context. Mahx Capacity of Aorta Films shared a clip of the studio’s work and discussed the role of queer, non-binary pornography in the world of sex work; Ceyenne Doroshow spoke about her experience as a Black, trans sex worker, G.L.I.T.S. - the organization she found to provide holistic care to LGTBQ sex workers, and about her community’s needs.
