Who we were…
After a hiatus from 2020-2023 (due to COVID-19), FPP is currently a roaming series, occurring wherever it takes us. From 2017-2019 FPP met monthly in a private loft in Manhattan's Lower East Side.

Co-Founding Curator & Producer (2017-2019)Halston Bruce is a creative consultant and cultural programming expert. As a co-founding curator Halston was instrumental in the first two years of the salon, bringing a fascinating mix of artists, activists, and scholars to the community. Halston was the force behind First Person Plural’s artist grant program. Blood Memory, her documentary film about traditional Icelandic fishermen, premiered in 2022 at NeuHouse, Los Angeles. Currently, Halston is the Creative Director for REUNION Los Angeles.

Who we were…

To date FPP has hosted nearly 100 artists, scholars, and activists who shared work for crowds ranging from 70-120 people. Our themes were: Embodiment; Pleasure; Mourning; Rage, Loss, & Legibility in Queer Experience; Sound and the Literature of Amos Tutuola; Reduction: Materiality and Transformation; Borders, Belonging, and Citizenship; The Province of Women; Life After Prison; and Love and Freedom.
